WHAT TO O WHEN THE LOVE RUNS OUT
WHAT TO O WHEN THE LOVE RUNS OUT
Exposing The Enemy's Tactic In Your Relationships
I’m about to expose to you Satan’s device in your life
that will always cause you to fall.
When Satan comes to you,
when the devil comes to you,
alright, he will always try to make God appear demanding.
He’ll come to you and say, “Your marriage is in trouble."
"You think God really cares? I mean God is busy with"
"running the universe, you know what I’m saying?"
"You know, and God is involved with Pastor Lawrence"
"because one time the weight fell on his face."
"So every time he goes to the gym now God is there,"
with His full Shekinah glory helping him with the weight,"
"You really think, you really, really think God is"
"involved, pouring out His goodness on your marriage?"
"Look at the state of your marriage. Look at it."
"You’re quarrelling all the time, you think God is involved?”
I’ll tell you something, the very area that is attacked,
is the area God is focused on.
If you can, write this somewhere in your heart,
I wrote this in my notebook some time ago.
Whatever produces a care in your heart,
whatever produces a care in your heart,
produces God’s care for you.
If it’s a care in your heart, God cares for it,
God cares for you.
Jesus even said the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
Even if it’s zero, He knows the number.
You know, my boy Justin, doesn’t have too much hair yet.
I think if I take time, I can count his hair, it’s very fine.
But you know what, I love him very much but
I never take the time to count the hairs on his head.
But Jesus says your Father knows
the numbers of hair on your head.
Don’t think that God is so big He runs the entire universe,
that is the wonder of God.
He cares for every care in your heart.
Casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you.
Remember this, tuck this somewhere in your heart.
Stop Placing Demands On Yourself!
God will not ask you to do something
that He will not work in you. Amen?
You don’t have it say, “God work in me.”
You know we say that,
“Whoa Pastor Prince I’m willing to do this for Jesus.”
Yeah even that willingness didn’t come from you.
God supplied it. And at the end even if you do something for God,
even the doing, God works in you to do
for His good pleasure.
You say, “Pastor Prince, I’m not willing. I’m not…"
"Don’t even talk about saving my marriage. I’m not even willing."
Alright, then don’t even try, let God work it in.
I said let God work it in. God is constantly working in us.
We don’t have something, don’t push it, rest.
Don’t demand from yourself what you don’t have.
God is not asking you to do what you don’t have.
But God is saying: "Be open to what I’m doing, working in you."
"I’ll give you the willingness."
"And I’ll give you the performance of my will."
Has The Love Run Out?
You say: “My marriage Pastor Prince, you don’t understand my marriage.”
What’s the problem in your marriage?
"There’s no passion, no more passion (French), it’s gone."
"I watch the Korean dramas, the guy makes heart-shaped candles."
Ok I need to clarify, that guy didn’t okay?
The acting crew did.
With all respect, with all due respect to Korean men,
Korean men are just like Singapore men. Men are men.
Amen? They are not romantic all the time, okay so be careful
that Korean dramas don’t transform you,
alright, into a high expectation of demand.
Okay? don’t forget. So what’s missing, what’s the problem?
“Pastor Prince, it’s not the same anymore.”
I understand, that’s why the first miracle that Jesus did
was not to go out there and save people who are lost and all that.
The first miracle Jesus did was to turn water into wine.
No, not wine, best wine at a wedding!
The Bible says this was the first miracle that Jesus did. Why?
Because He knows very well that once upon a time,
we were all dovey-eyed, we looked at each other
for a long time.
You know we can say things like:
“I can melt into your eyes forever."
Now you all eh ah eh, but you all did say that one time.
You all forgot alright, you all forgot.
Now you don’t want to even look at your cards anymore
because you ee ah oo, that kind of thing.
You can’t even put down the phone at one time:
“You put down first la, no you put down first."
"No you put down first.” Remember that?
None of you did that,
Ok: "We put down together." Remember that?
You remember that? Ok anyway now you say:
“Yeah what is it? Ah what?”
There’s no more ‘dear’, there’s no more ‘sweetheart’,
‘hi baby’. Alright. And one of the saddest things,
no more even 'please’ or ‘thank you’ alright.
The wine ran out. The babies came,
diapers to be changed, mouths to feed,
and the wine ran out.
Jesus understands; your marriage is not abnormal.
Many people go through this. They come to church,
they hold hands, you know.
But every marriage needs a third party.
His name is Jesus. You’re never meant to
survive with each other. It’s like a pyramid right?
You see if you’re just focused on each other,
the base is so far. But if you focus on Jesus,
you both get closer and closer to each other.
So Jesus is meant to be the centre.
So invite Jesus again and He will turn the water into wine, alright?
David fell in this area, David, the man after God’s heart.
And this is for you guys.
You know some times we have these;
ok you have these thoughts:
“What if I have more than one wife?”
You have these thoughts, right?
If you are a guy, you have these thoughts and you’re wondering:
“Don’t let any one know I have these thoughts."
"What if I have three wives? I think I’ll be happy."
"I’ll be satisfied, spice is the variety of life."
"Or variety is the spice of life.”
Ok anyway you see when you think like that, you don’t think straight.
So you think, “I think I’ll be happy.” Are you sure?
David had many wives and porcupines, ok concubines, alright.
But one day he was on his balcony, he looked down he saw
another man’s wife, Bathsheba, and he wanted her.
That goes to tell you, alright, it doesn’t satisfy
because the problem is not the numbers,
the problem is the heart.
Ok so the Bible says he committed adultery with her,
had her husband killed.
God sent a prophet to talk to him.
There was something wrong in David’s thinking in this area.
And I know also in many of our areas where we’re having
challenges in marriage, we have this thinking that in this area—
God can supply in other areas, God is concerned about
the world’s salvation and things like that, you know,
but in this area…
His first miracle was in this area.
Not just turning into wine but best wine.
And what was David’s thinking? The prophet revealed it, let’s read:
What You Lack In Your Relationship, God Can Supply!
“Nathan said to David, ‘You are the man."
"God says he anointed you king over Israel."
"He delivered you, He gave you,’” notice all supply, “
"He gave you your master’s house, your master’s wives."
"He gave you the house of Israel and Judah."
"And if that had been too little,” God said,
’I also would have given you much more!’”
Now God is not saying much more wives ok?
It’s obvious he had a problem.
God says if your marriage is not satisfying you, ask Me.
Don’t try to work for yourself, don’t try to supply for yourself.
You’ll always end up in a deeper problem.
Even if you divorce your wife, you will still have to
maintain this one that you’re with.
And then what? When the wine runs out?
Run again? Run again? God says, “Ask Me."
"If what I’ve given you is not enough, ask Me."
"I’ll give you much more.” Much more what? Passion (French),
romance, ask God for it. Say, “God make my"
"marriage intoxicating.” Amen.
I just want to tell you this,
the devil wants you to see God as mean, demanding, stingy.
"God doesn’t want you to have this, doesn’t want you to do this"
"because He doesn’t want you to have fun."
"He doesn’t want you to have joy."
That’s what a lot of young people out there think.
They do not know that out there when they indulge
and indulge, the fun goes down, down, down.
But God’s ways, the fun goes on and on and on.
True fulfilment, true pleasure is in the ways of God.
But to enjoy it, let’s be like Mary.
How To Deal With The Demands
Let’s come to Jesus’ feet and say: "Lord, today I come to you empty,"
"fill me up, Lord."
Alright, doesn’t have to be physically
sitting down all the time.
You can actually be rushing for work,
but in your heart say: “Lord, I’m looking to you, Lord."
"I’m in a hurry today, Lord, but I’m looking to you."
"Thank you Lord for your wisdom."
"Yes, there’s this assignment I must do,"
"I’m meeting my boss, Lord, for an interview."
"Thank you for your favour Lord, thank you for your favour.” Amen?
And you know something, when you see God working in you,
producing the willingness, and the performance,
you really will say: "Worthy is the Lamb,"
"to God be all the glory."
It wouldn’t just be a cliché.
It will be from your heart.
