Lord, the light of your love is shining

In the midst of the darkness, shining

Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us

Set us free by the truth you now bring us

Shine on me, shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine

Fill this land with the Father's glory

Blaze, Spirit, blaze

Set our hearts on fire

Flow, river, flow

Flood the nations with grace and mercy

Send forth your word

Lord, and let there be light

Lord, I come to your awesome presence

From the shadows into your radiance

By the blood I may enter your brightness

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness

Shine on me, shine on me

As we gaze on your kingly brightness

So our faces display your likeness

Ever changing from glory to glory

Mirrored here may our lives tell your story

Joshua 13:3 - Many of us are being attacked by stress and anxiety today

“. . . from Sihor (darkness), which is east of Egypt (‘Mitsrayim’ — double stress).”
— Joshua 13:3 NKJV

Sihor” — The name “Sihor” means “darkness.”

Egypt” — The name “Egypt” is the Hebrew word “Mitsrayim,” which means “double straits” or “double stress.”

When you put the names “Sihor” and “Egypt” together, you get “darkness of double stress.” Many of us are being attacked by stress and anxiety today.

Studies have shown that stress is a key factor behind many diseases.

Let’s not allow the enemy’s deception of self-condemnation, pride, or stress to stop us from possessing the land that God has promised us.

To possess your land, you can call upon the anointing of the Lord to come upon you. Like oil, it will make everything in your life smooth. There will come a supernatural ease to every area of life when you operate with the wisdom of God.

Introduction: If you want to hear God’s spoken Word, get into His written Word

In these last days, we cannot take God’s protection for granted. As believers, let’s believe and pray for the promises of protection that are found Psalm 91.

“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation (‘Yeshua’)
— Psalm 91:16 KJV

long life” — This a promise for those who are living under God’s grace, the new covenant.

salvation” — The word for “salvation” in Hebrew is “Yeshua,” which is also Jesus’ name. God will give you a long life where you will see more and more of Jesus!

Under the old covenant (the law), there was a measurement to people’s years of life (Ps. 90:10). Under the new covenant (grace), God promises us long life (with no measurement) because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross.

There are so many promises that are waiting for us to possess.

God’s Word is filled with details of our inheritance!

God has prepared riches of His grace and glory for us to enjoy (Eph. 2:7, Phil. 4:19), but we need to seek out His Word to access this abundance of wisdom.

People of the world can gain knowledge, experience, and expertise in various fields. However, wisdom is not knowledge; wisdom is an impartation that only comes from the Lord (Prov. 2:6).

Every time we search God’s Word, we are seeking wisdom. The way God speaks a word in season for us is through His written Word. When we seek Him in the written Word, He will make it a living word—a “now” word for us that is timely, relevant, and practical in our situation.

When you read God’s Word, know that every single word and detail in it was written for your benefit. There is no insignificant detail in the Bible—every story, every name, every event that took place—they are all types that symbolize the times we live in.

“Now all these things happened to them [as] types, and have been written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.”
— 1 Corinthians 10:11 DARBY

[as] types” — All the things that happened in the Old Testament are “types” written as details that hold significant meaning for us today. These admonitions (advice, lessons, counsel, teaching, reproach) concern areas of our lives that we may have neglected or been unable to understand. God wants to bring them to our attention to help us.

An example of how the meanings of names are significant and bring out the relevance of Old Testament stories in our lives today: the story of Caleb and his daughter, Achsah.

“And Caleb said, ‘He who attacked Kirjath Sepher (city of the Book) and takes it, to him I will give Achsah (anklet) my daughter as wife.’ So Othniel (lion of God) the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.”
— Joshua 15:16–17 NKJV

Kirjath Sepher” — This translates to “city of the Book,” which refers to the Word of God.

Achsah” — Achsah’s name means “anklet,” and it refers to possessing one’s inheritance (because the anklet refers to the foot, and God said, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you” (Josh. 1:3)).

Othniel” — The name of Achsah’s husband is Othniel, which means “lion of God,” a reference to Jesus, the lion of Judah.

When you put the names together, it is a picture of Jesus (lion of God) who has conquered (possessed the land) the city of the Book (God’s Word) (Rev. 5:2, 5).

“ . . . formerly the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher.”
— Joshua 15:15 NKJV

Debir” — The name “Debir” means “spoken word,” which also refers to “oracles of God.” We see that Kirjath Sepher is the former name of Debir. From this we can see the connection between “Debir (spoken word)” and “Kirjath Sepher (written Word).” In other words, he who conquers God’s written Word will have God’s spoken word—the timely and relevant word in season. Only then can you speak as the oracles of God.

You can ask God for big things for there is much more good He wants you to possess!

Caleb was a strong man of faith, and Achsah married Othniel who was also a man of faith. Pastor Prince paints a picture of how he can imagine Caleb imparting God’s promises to Achsah as a young girl as they traveled in the wilderness, sitting around a campfire at night and telling her about the promised land that the Lord had prepared for them to possess. This is how Caleb developed Achsah’s love for her inheritance.

As parents, we can share the Bible with our children in simple ways that stir up interest and love for God’s Word. Because Caleb shared these stories of God’s promises with Achsah, she grew up with a desire to possess the land her father described. In the same way, our children will grow up with a desire for the things of God and know that their inheritance is found in His Word.

“Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, ‘What do you wish?’ She answered, ‘Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.’ So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.”
— Joshua 15:18–19 NKJV

you have given me land in the South” — Caleb had given Achsah land in the South that was rich, full of precious fruits that were brought forth by the sun (Deut. 33:14). However, there was also a need for plenty of water.

give me also springs of water” — Achsah never felt like she was asking her father for too much or felt like she was imposing on him. As believers, we can ask our Father for big things because we have received the spirit of Sonship through Jesus’ finished work. In fact, we honor God with our faith when we ask Him for more!

So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs” — Caleb ended up exceeding Achsah’s requests by giving her both the upper and lower springs.

These springs are a picture of the Holy Spirit. The upper springs are a picture of the Holy Spirit coming upon us (like He did for the heroes in the Old Testament and gave them supernatural ability and power to equip them for the task at hand).

Pastor Prince shares how he always asks for the Holy Spirit to come upon him as he preaches so that he can give a word in season for the church. Samson, a man who was mighty in strength, also had the Holy Spirit come upon him when a lion was attacking him.

“And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily (‘tsalach’) upon him (Samson), and he tore the lion apart.”
— Judges 14:6 NKJV

came mightily” — The phrase “came mightily” is the Hebrew word “tsalach,” which means to “prosper.”

“ . . . And whatever he does shall prosper (‘tsalach’).
— Psalm 1:3 NKJV

prosper” — The same Hebrew word “tsalach” is used here for “prosper.”

If you are a preacher: when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be able to share the Word and find words you never knew, use illustrations you never thought of (Matt. 10:19). This happens not because you are operating in your own natural strength, but in the Holy Spirit’s anointing (Acts 6:10).

For areas of ministry, you need to ask God for His anointing to come upon you and empower you with His strength and wisdom.

On the other hand, the lower springs are a picture of the Holy Spirit within us, guiding you in daily decisions. While the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon us for the task at hand can come and go, His anointing within us remains permanently.

Don’t be satisfied with just the South land (land without springs of water). When you are feeling dry, ask the Lord for springs of water! He will give to you the Spirit that will lead you every single day. Keep asking Him for more—for there is yet very much land to be possessed (Josh. 13:1)! You don’t want to find out in heaven that there was much more land for you to have possessed on earth. It’s one thing to know your blessings but another thing to actually possess them and them. This is what God desires for us.

In every valley of trouble, God has prepared food and nourishment to sustain you

The “now” word for today is this: Don't just be satisfied with the status quo. There is much more land to be possessed (Josh. 13:1)! Don’t just be satisfied with knowing the gospel of grace. There is much more inheritance and blessings for you to possess.

Ephesians 1:3 tells us that we are “blessed in the heavenly places.” This same phrase is used again in the last chapter of Ephesians.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
— Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

in the heavenly places” — This same phrase that appeared in Ephesians 1:3 is mentioned here where powers of darkness are involved. This shows us that the very same place God blesses us is the place the enemy attacks us. He doesn’t want you to enjoy God’s blessings with ease. However, there is no need to fear, because this is where God’s grace comes in.

In every difficult place in your life, God has prepared nourishment for you. He turns your difficulty into something that is good for you. When difficulties come, remember that you can put on the armor of God: the shield of faith, to quench all the fiery darts that the enemy shoots at you, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Eph. 6:16–17).

In every valley of trouble, there is a door of hope.

“I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor (trouble) as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.”
— Hosea 2:15 NKJV

Valley of Achor . . . door of hope” — The name “Achor” means “trouble.” In your valley of trouble, look for the door of hope and you shall find it. In the midst of your trouble, the Lord has prepared for you a way of escape and an expectation of good to come!

When you find that door of hope, you will discover renewal of youth, a youthful vibrancy to sing again, to find your springtime again. No matter what troubles come, the Lord is faithful to ensure that those times of testing will not overcome you. Rather, He will make a way of escape—your door of hope (1 Cor. 10:13)!

Jesus has stripped the enemy of all his weapons against you

Every name in the Bible has significance. Let’s look at the names of the enemies of Israel that were squatting in the promised land. These enemies represent the challenges and difficulties we face today that stop us from possessing our inheritance:

The Philistines

“This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines (wallowing in dust) . . .”
— Joshua 13:2 NKJV

Philistines” — The name “Philistines” means “wallowing in dust.” In Bible times, when someone was grieving over their sins, they would take dust or ashes and place it on their heads. It was a physical action of condemning themselves.

The Philistines are a picture of self-condemnation.

Whenever you’re feeling condemned, remember that there is no more condemnation for you who are in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1). If you’re being attacked, remember the battle that happened between David and Goliath (a Philistine). Goliath’s name means “stripped, exiled,” while David’s name means “beloved.” Remember that you are God’s beloved, and you have received the gift of no more condemnation––this will cause you to triumph over every attack of the enemy.

“. . . having spoiled (disarmed, stripped) principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
— Colossians 2:15 KJV

having spoiled” — The word “spoiled” here means “disarmed, stripped.” When Jesus went to the cross on our behalf, His death stripped the devil of all the weapons he can use against us. Today when you look at the devil, see him stripped and deprived of every weapon he ever had against you.

All the enemy has left is deception. He is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8). Don’t be someone he can devour.

He knows all his weapons against you are useless, so he attempts to use the power you have against yourself. For example, he has insidiously programmed death into our language because he knows that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov. 18:21). Don’t allow him to use your tongue to speak against yourself! For example, instead of saying, “I’m dying for that piece of cake,” say instead, “I’m living for that piece of cake.” For we can only enjoy it if we’re living!

The other thing the enemy does now that his weapons are stripped is that he makes you self-conscious. That is where self-condemnation comes from. The enemy makes you conscious of what you’ve done wrong and what good you’ve not done enough of.

God doesn’t want you to look within and see what you’ve done wrong or what you’ve not done enough of, He wants you to take the eyes off yourself and look to Jesus.

Our good works are important but that can only happen by beholding Jesus. It is when we behold Jesus that we are transformed into His glory by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Cor. 3:18).

When you wallow in self-condemnation (dust), you become devourable because the devil’s food is dust (Gen. 3:14). Instead, start hearing the word of grace which will turn your eyes upon Jesus and His finished work. When you see what Christ has done, you will shake off the dust of condemnation and become undevourable (Isa. 52:2, 1 Pet. 5:8).

The Geshurites

Another enemy of the Israelites is the Geshurites:

“. . . and all that of the Geshurites (proud beholder).”
— Joshua 13:2 NKJV

Geshurites” — The name “Geshurites” means “proud beholder.” The Geshurites are a picture of pride. Proud people look at others and think they are greater than them.

Pride is also a result of self-occupation.

On one hand, there are those who look at themselves and feel condemned because they only see their bad points. Then there are those who look at themselves and only look at their good points, then compare themselves to other people’s bad points, and become proud.

When you take your eyes off Jesus and look to yourself, these are the results.

For Joshua, there were many cities he conquered but did not possess (live in and enjoy). The promised land for you to possess today is a place of rest, peace, health, wholeness, and place where the Spirit flows. Don’t allow the Philistines (condemnation) and Geshurites (pride) to sit on it.

Sihor and Egypt

“. . . from Sihor (darkness), which is east of Egypt (‘Mitsrayim’ — double stress).”

Your difficulties will strengthen you, not consume you

We go back to the story of Caleb, where he tells Joshua his plan of possessing the land:

“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.”
— Joshua 14:10–11 NKJV

eighty-five years old . . . I am as strong this day . . . so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in” — Because Caleb wholly followed the Lord (Josh. 14:8), he had faith to believe that he and his family would enter the promised land. At an advanced age of 85, there was no decline of energy or diminishing of Caleb’s physical strength.

In the Bible, you don’t find God telling Caleb that he was old (although God told Joshua that he was old and advanced in age (Josh. 13:1)). God put Caleb and Joshua side by side for us to see the contrast between the two of them. They were the two out of ten spies sent into the promised land who returned with a good report that the land was an “exceedingly good land” (Num. 14:7).

The “very very good land” (Num. 14:7 YLT) is a picture of God’s Word. In God’s Word, you will find the answers to every single thing you’re going through. All the books in the world cannot compare with the wisdom that His Word holds. His wisdom for all our affairs of life—marriage, parenting, business, relationships with people, even our walk with God—is found in the written Word. It is a very very good Book that contains our inheritance, and God is found on every page. This is why God wants us to possess it!

Caleb goes on to ask Joshua:

“Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron (‘habar’ — association) to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.”
— Joshua 14:12 NKJV

give me this mountain . . . Hebron” — Hebron is a part of the promised land that the Anakims (the giants) resided in, the same place the spies were sent to scout out many years ago. While the rest of the spies said that the Anakims would eat them up, Caleb was the one who said the Anakim were bread for them (Num. 14:9).

Caleb saw his difficulties as bread for him, and that is the secret to his perpetual and perennial youthfulness.

See your giants and difficulties as food that will strengthen you, not troubles that will consume you.

If you are faced with a stressful or difficult situation, be like Caleb and see every difficulty as an opportunity to be strengthened, and you won’t be consumed by it. As a child of God, the Lord will turn your difficulty into bread that will nourish and strengthen you!

Whomever you identify yourself with, their fate you will partake of

“Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb . . . And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war.”
— Joshua 14:14–15 NKJV

And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim)” — Hebron was filled with Anakim, and it was also where Arba, the greatest man of all the Anakim lived. “Arba” represents the number “four,” and also refers to the other great giants with him (there were four of them—three sons, plus Arba himself). Caleb had asked for the most difficult mountain to possess! However, at 85, Caleb went in and routed them out.

Hebron” — The name “Hebron” comes from the Hebrew word “habar,” which means “association” (Josh. 14:13). “Hebron” is the noun, “habar” is the verb. From “habar,” you have the feminine word, “habura,” which means “alliance,” which also refers to “stripes.”

“. . . with his stripes (‘habura’ — association) we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

stripes” — The word “stripes” here is the Hebrew word “habura.” So while it is true that by the physical stripes Jesus bore on His body for us, we are healed, this verse also tells us that by our association with Jesus at the cross, we are healed!

When we associate ourselves with Jesus, when we identify with Him, we receive our healing.

We see this principle of association in the story of King Jehoshaphat of Judah when he associated himself with the evil king of Israel, Ahab. When Jehoshaphat allied himself with Ahab and said to him, “I am as you are” (2 Chron. 18:3), he ended up partaking of the fate that was meant for Ahab. We will go into this story more later.

Whoever you identify yourself with, their fate you will partake of. So when you say, “As Jesus is, so am I in this world” (1 John 4:17), you are identifying yourself with Jesus’ portion and His fate. Today, we are not just one with Him in Spirit, but we are members of His flesh and bones (Eph. 5:30). This is why we can speak His health into our bodies—as He is healthy in heaven right now, so are we in this world right now!

Keep your eyes on the Lord and know that “as He is, so are we in this world.”

Pastor Prince reads out a powerful testimony from a lady in the church who was healed from lumps in her breast as she kept proclaiming “as Jesus is, so am I in this world.” This testimony has become a catalyst for many other healing testimonies we’ve received.

As Jesus is young, strong, righteous, and under the Father’s unclouded favor, so are you in this world!

You’re not transforming yourself by your own words or effort. As you behold Jesus and speak forth the truth of your association with Him, you will be effortlessly transformed into the same image by the Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18).

When you shift your focus from yourself to the Lord, the Spirit can then start working everything in your life for good.

Pastor Prince shares a testimony from a man from Australia who was suffering from hepatitis C and cirrhosis as a result of smoking and drug use during his teenage years (before his life was changed by the gospel of grace). After hearing about how proclaiming, “As Jesus is, so am I in this world,” resulted in the lady with lumps in her breast receiving healing, he too started proclaiming the Lord’s health over his body. When he went for a biopsy, he discovered that he was clear of cirrhosis, hepatitis C, and there was no liver scarring at all!

Identify yourself with Jesus and you will partake of His victory in every situation

We go back to the story of King Jehoshaphat of Judah and his alliance with King Ahab of Israel. Here, Jehoshaphat agreed to dress as Ahab when they went into battle with the king of Syria:

“Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots who were with him, saying, ‘Fight with no one small or great, but only with the king of Israel. So it was, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, ‘It is the king of Israel!’ Therefore they surrounded him to attack; but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him, and God diverted them from him.”
— 2 Chronicles 18:30–31 NKJV

when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, ‘It is the king of Israel!’ Therefore they surrounded him to attack” — Whoever you associate yourself with, their fate, portion, and lot you will partake of. This is what happened to Jehoshaphat when he associated with Ahab. Jehoshaphat went into battle dressed as Ahab, whom the enemies were looking to kill, and he almost died except that the Lord in His mercy saved him from Ahab’s fate.

Even after this event, King Jehoshaphat went on to identify himself with yet another evil king of Israel, Ahaziah:

“After this Jehoshaphat king of Judah allied (‘habar’) himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who acted very wickedly. And he allied (‘habar’) himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish, and they made the ships in Ezion Geber. But Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, ‘Because you have allied (‘habar’) yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has destroyed your works.’ Then the ships were wrecked, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.”
— 2 Chronicles 20:35–37 NKJV

allied” — The word “allied” in these verses is the Hebrew word “habar,” which means “association.” In the end, because of Jehoshaphat’s alliance with Ahaziah, Eliezer prophesied that the works he had set out to accomplish with this king would be destroyed.

Whoever you ally yourself with, their portion you will partake of. When you ally yourself with Christ, you will experience the same benefits and victory He has.

When you see and identify yourself with all Jesus is and all He has, you will start possessing all your possessions.

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
— Hebrews 2:14–15 KJV

of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same” — The way Jesus delivered us was to identify Himself with us by coming as a man. Identify yourself with Jesus, for He loves you so much that He came as a man so He could identify with you and deliver you from death.

If there is someone you love, the best way to communicate is to identify with their feelings, which results in more alliance, communion, and true sharing. Learn to listen not just objectively and also empathetically to your loved ones because it will help you identify with what they are going through.

Pastor Prince closes the service by reminding us that God has plenty of land (inheritance) that we still have yet to possess, and the importance of identifying ourselves with Jesus. Do you have trouble in your life? See those difficulties as bread for you to feed on. Are you seeing an area of lack where you’re not possessing God’s promises? Look to the Lord and declare: “As Jesus is, so am I in this world!”

Salvation prayer

“Lord Jesus, I thank You that You love me and died on the cross for all my sins. I confess You Lord Jesus as my Savior and my Lord. Father God, thank You, that when You declared me righteous, You raised Christ from the dead. Thank You Father God, that Jesus Christ is now my true identity. So help me discover all that He is, Lord, the glories of His person, so that I can be practically more like Him. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Closing prayer

“The Lord bless you and the Lord keep you. The blessings of God will manifest in your life throughout this week. You’ll see them pop, one by one. Acknowledge them, and thank the Lord for them. The Lord keep you, preserve, protect you and your loved ones throughout this week from the COVID-19 virus, and from every disease, and from every danger, harm, and from all the powers of darkness. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord make His face to shine on you. Behold Him as He is, so are you. His face is full of glory, shining on you, granting you His favor everywhere you go this week. Favor surrounds you like a shield. The Lord lift up His countenance on you and grant to you and your families His shalom peace, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. God bless all of you!”

Own The Word (life application)

“ . . . there remains very much land yet to be possessed.”
— Joshua 13:1 NKJV

Child of God, there is much more in this life that the Lord wants you to possess. He has purchased every promise and blessing in God’s Word for you at the cross, but how much are you actually experiencing and enjoying?

Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best for you and your family. If there is a blessing or breakthrough you want to see, ask big and bold. The Lord loves bold requests.

This week, practice these two things:

  1. Take on Caleb’s perspective. Caleb could ask big and ask bold (for Hebron, the part of the promised land filled with giants) because he saw his difficulties as food that would strengthen him. The same goes for you today. See the challenges you are facing as food for you. Know that they will not consume you but you will consume them and be made stronger through every struggle.

This is why in the very area you are attacked in—be it your health, your relationships, your career, your emotional wellbeing, or your family life—you can boldly ask the Lord to cause you to possess that land and fully enjoy His blessings in it!

  2. Identify yourself with Jesus, who is right now sitting at the Father’s right hand, filled with resurrection life and power. 1 John 4:17 tells us that “as He is, so are we in this world.” So if there is an area of lack or defeat in your life—whether it is in the area of self-control, natural capabilities, or wisdom—ask yourself, “Does Jesus have victory/success in this area?”

As you behold the Lord in all His perfection and beauty and identify yourself with Him, declaring, “As He is, so am I in this world,” you will begin to possess all that He has!

built up our faith with a confident expectation of good for our future hallelujah praise the name of jesus i want to continue right now on where we left off last week the bible says in romans 8 verse 1 there is therefore now no condemnation at all for those who are in christ jesus and this from the nesb that brings out the greek word no which is actually absolutely nothing and it leaves no exceptions amen it is a no that is very emphatic therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in christ jesus for the law the spirit of life in christ jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death so the law of sin and death came in ever since adam and eve sinned and we know that it's been operating every time you attend a funeral you are seeing a culmination of the law of of sin and death in the lives of the people that are around you at different various stages and what god wants us to know is this that god never desired for us to have a life of of increasingly weak increasing weakness and then you know growing old and then dying or even be subject to sickness and disease that's not god's plan god's dream for man even the very first man adam and eve god wanted them to live in health in perpetual youthfulness and strength and just enjoying all the good things that god has for them but alas we know the story by their own choice by their own violation they disobey god and in a sense when you disobey god you actually obeying the enemy the devil and all that the devil wants to bring in into the life of man and the devil hates man because man is created in the image of god and just like the devil cannot come against god directly he come against god's image man he hates you my friend the devil hates you god loves you amen when you obey god you actually obeying the one who has your best interests at heart you're obeying the one who is actually the one who said i know my plans that i have for you plans of good and not evil whereas the devil has nothing but destruction in front of you but he will always entice you through the lust of the flesh the pride of life or all the loss of other things coming in and and the devil will try to entice you into disobeying god and then the result the bible says sin brings forth theft when jesus died on the cross he released another law hallelujah for all believers the bible says the law of the spirit of life in christ jesus has freed us from the law of sin and death now the law the spirit of life just like the law here in a sense is not the kenny commandments law or the laws of the courts right but is the law of which and something is operating a a mode of operation like you say the law of gravity what goes up comes down because of the law of gravity so likewise spiritually there's a law of the spirit of life in the in the lives of every believer that life is zoe life the life that jesus gave us jesus said i come that you might have life and have it more abundantly well that's the life that you and i have and that life has a law in it and that law frees us amen in fact the word there is a past stance it frees you it has freed you from the law of sin and death as long as you you you stay at that at the place of the law of the spirit of life it frees you it's very given it has freed you from the law of sin and death and we see this happening sometimes you say you know we don't understand how this operates when we still see weakness in our lives and and depression all these are signs of of death which god never wanted this law to be released upon the earth but it came in because of man's sin it's like the law of trust and lift has set the plane free from the law of gravity now the law of gravity is still there but every time the plane takes off there's another law that transcends and freeze the plane from the law of gravity it transcends called the law of trust and lift okay and and that law as long as obey a certain amount of trust will cause you to rise higher and higher and you transcend the law of gravity so god puts in a greater law a higher law the law the spirit of life in christ jesus amen that transcends that frees you from the law of sin and death now friend that law is still there in the world but god wants us to walk in the spirit because it's the law the spirit of life in christ jesus amen i'm going to learn that today praise god hallelujah but one of the things you can also do is always to confess the lord the spirit of life in christ jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death every time you feel like a symptom coming up in your body or weakness or whatever just confess the law the spirit of life in christ jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death don't forget faith is speaking what you believe amen like david says in the psalms i believe and therefore i have spoken and paul quoted david in uh second corinthians chapter four where he says just like david says that we having the same spirit of faith same spirit is what david right he's quoting from the psalms we having the same spirit of faith i believe and therefore i speak we also believe and therefore speak amen so that's the spirit of faith believe and speak and because we are made in the image of god god first speaks and then he sees today man is so fallen that man is operating on the reverse side they want to see and then they will say what they see right but god's way is always you want to see good god never god himself never saw good right the product of of his words until he spoke when he wanted light he saw darkness actually but god says light be and light was and the light was good god saw good after he spoke so we having the same spirit of faith we are made in the image of god that's how faith operates and and paul says we having the same spirit of faith as david in the psalms and his quoting david i believe and therefore i speak that's how we get safe amen we say that by grace are you saved through faith and how do we appropriate all that christ has done for us by faith how does faith operate romans 10 tells us if you confess with your mouth jesus is your lord and believe in your heart notice again belief and speaking belief and speaking that's how faith operates and that's how you appropriate all the things of god salvation the next verse tells us with the heart man beliefs unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation so it's always the same thing heart and the mouth is always engaged in the process of faith that's how you you have faith that's how you exercise faith that's how you release faith in your life amen so confess the law the spirit of life in christ jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death every time you feel tired every time you feel like there's a symptom trying to get on you all right just confess the lord the spirit of life in christ jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death amen because that's your given place in christ transcending the law of sin and death in the spirit of life amen praise god so we must know that we are now in christ jesus and fear in christ and god will never see you apart from christ because god sees your identity from now on always and never outside but always in christ and whatever happened to christ has happened to you when he died on the cross god god says you are crucified with him you died with him you were buried with him when god raised him from the dead you were raised with him and when god made jesus a seat at his right hand you sat down with him hallelujah praise the lord and in that in that place amen in that sphere where you are in christ jesus and you are in him forever you're not there by your effort in fact in first corinthians 1 30 it says but of him in other words it's of god's doing it is of him that you are in christ jesus who of god is made unto us wisdom righteousness sanctification and redemption hallelujah praise the lord so jesus is all this to us and it comes by us amen knowing that we are in christ and in that place we are blessed with all blessings amen praise the name of jesus it goes on to tell us that god has condemned sin in the flesh when we were crucified with christ god condemned sin in the flesh noticing jesus sin in the flesh all our sins are forgiven what we do are the sins right all the sins are forgiven through christ's blood but who we are our old man you know we we cannot but sin we are so you know we are when adam fell the nature of the sinful nature was passed down to the generations and every child is born in sin everyone is a sinner amen so but what happened is that god put us in christ amen when christ became a sin offering on the cross god put us in christ and our old man our old sinful nature has all been crucified and done with amen so that when god raised christ from the dead the new you rose again amen created in righteousness and true holiness you rose with christ therefore if any man be in christ he's a new creation all things have passed away all things have become new but you need to know one thing even though your spirit is born again your spirit is righteous in god's eyes but your mind is playing catch up your mind is is uh being constantly being renewed remember the bible says in more than one place be transformed by the renewing of your mind another place be renewed in the spirit of your mind so the mind needs to be renewed to what has happened to us once you are safe you are born again praise the lord you still feel sometimes you feel like the old man you feel like you have all these spiritual spiritual battles going on in your emotional realm you feel depression you feel anger you feel all these things as if you're not you're not safe you don't have the as if you still have the old nature but no friend you are born again all these are in your emotional realm your soulish realm it is not in your spirit realm the real you you are a spirit you live in a body you are a spirit being because god made you in his image amen god breathed into man when you know when god made adam god made adam the his body from the dust of the ground and that's why ashes to ashes right but his body came from the dust of the ground but the real adam his spirit and soul was breathed into it's like when he got made adam the body was like a mannequin all right lifeless you're just standing there and then god breathed into man i like the hebrew word there viper it's like god breathed into man and man became a living soul and man has a spirit that came from god and that's why men whether they have their sins forgiven whether they are born again or not they will live forever it's either hell or heaven and that's why man cannot just uh cease from existence because he's a spirit but then he has a soul he has a mind and he lives in a body so right now what you're saying is my body this is the house i live in but the real me is inside when i look at you the real you is inside when men fell you must understand he died spiritually when god told adam the day you partake of the that tree you will die god actually said in hebrew dying you shall die in other words he will die spiritually and then you shall future tense you shall die physically one day so on the day adam sinned he died spiritually what does that mean that means he has no more uh consciousness and uh response to god the way god wants him to respond he he's cut off his date spiritually or his death spiritually and uh he only living by his mind or his body and since then men either they have an overdeveloped brain or they have an over developed body right strong like pastor lawrence hallelujah right but the thing is that god doesn't want us to be led either by our body or by our minds now i'm not saying throw away your mind okay ignore your body no on the contrary god wants us to take care of these realms but god wants the spirit man to be the leader amen to be the one to lead the soul the soul is subject to the spirit that's why when god baptizes us in the holy spirit we start speaking in the language we don't understand we pray in the spirit and the mind is saying what are you saying stop it all right stop it this is gibberish you know stop it i don't understand it if i don't understand it you must stop it the mind always wants to uh dominate the mind or the body the body says i want it i want it if i want it i want to indulge in it i feel it i want to give in to it if i'm hungry i want to eat i want to eat i want to eat right now okay and there are people who are led by their bodies there are some who are led by their minds by their emotions which is soul okay but god wants us to be led by our spirit and that's called walking in the spirit amen when i learn that today as much as we can praise the lord but if you drop down in romans 8 right after the law of the spirit of life it talks about god condemned sin in the flesh we've covered that and it tells us to put our mind on the spirit amen put your mind on the spirit it tells you here for those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit now to set the mind on the flesh is death but to set the mind on the spirit is life and peace again to set the mind on the flesh is death but to set the mind on the spirit is life and peace now scholars will tell you this that many times they are uh also be followed by a certain passage whether it's referring to the holy spirit or the human spirit sometimes it's not referring to the holy spirit it's ripping through a human spirit a man to set your mind on the flesh is your body all right and uh to set your mind on the spirit therefore is actually your spirit man okay and your spirit man is born again it's recreated created in righteousness and true holiness the bible tells us and to set your mind in the spirit of course the holy spirit indwells your spirit i think one of the reasons why uh in certain passages is not clear whether it's the holy spirit or the human spirit because god has made them one amen he that is joined unto the lord is one spirit amen so it doesn't matter whether you have to clarify whether it's the holy spirit there or the human spirit just know this when you listen to your human spirit even amen you are listening to the holy spirit because he dwells there he dwells there amen he bears witness with the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of god hallelujah and that's how god speaks to you that's how god leads you from within and then god wants you to lead your mind and and the soul part let me show you this illustration okay this chart here now isn't it good for us to know ourselves how god has made us now notice like i said who you are is you are spirit you're a spirit being living in a body but you also have a soul all right say this after me right now say i am a spirit i have a soul and i live in a body and man is your body is your house so you have a soul you are not a soul you are a spirit amen this is a real you you you are a spirit you have a soul you live in a body amen so each part has its own functions that god has given right of course your body it are the five senses you have the sight sound smell taste touch so those are your bodily functions all right in other words anything that activates this is activating your body so so the function of the soul is this mind emotion will so your emotions whether you feel joy or you feel a elation you feel peaceful or you feel depressed you don't feel good and all that it's just an emotion all right it's all in your soul it's not true in your spirit all right now emotions can affect your body and that's the thing that we're going to look at as well but then look at the will the will is actually in your soul you decide in your soul okay so these are the functions of the soul and what are the functions of the spirit the spirit is communion intuition and conscience now communion is communion with god that's where you commune with god you don't communicate with your body okay you don't like oh i feel god it's true sometimes we feel god that's fine and good but don't rely on it amen you commune with the father in spirit those the father seek of such to worship him those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth all right so that's where you commune with god and it's the most intimate communion amen even bodily if you sense him what's going to happen when you don't sense him bodily the bodily sensations are no longer there i know people cry sometimes in the in the tangible presence of god and i'm not you know i i want people to have experiences like this and i've seen them and i'm not knocking that okay but i don't want us to depend on those things god says we walk by faith in the spirit realm and not by sight okay and then you can also contact god with your emotions god i i want to feel you lord in my emotions so if i feel i feel joy i feel i feel peace and all that feelings of felicity you know i i feel that you are near no no don't depend on that because your feelings can go up and down amen but in your spirit man you are you have communion with god just realize it and that's why the pray pray in tongues it's actually praying in the spirit whereas praying with the understanding is praying with your soul with your mind your understanding so the deepest part of communion with god is actually your spirit that's one of the functions and then intuition now intuition even even though people are dead spiritually but certain functions you know the word date is doesn't mean cessation of all the the spirit functions even the people are not safe they still have a certain amount of convenience that there are times they they they sense god all right in the communion but it's instead of uh it's dayton that's a better word to use it's dayton like the bible says a widow you know talking about a certain widow all right certain widow that lives in in sinful pleasure she's dead while she lives the prodigal son when he was living in sin the father says right my son was dead but is now alive so the same thing we are cut off from god in the sense that you know but but the functions are still there you know but they lie dormant but we are born again they all come alive amen full amen in full force praise the lord they are resurrected hallelujah so there are people of the of the world even they can sense in their intuition long before their mind understands something so that's why it's important for us to know the intuition amen and the bible tells us that for those who are born again those who are believers on christ there's a new covenant established with them in christ and is that god will lead you from within amen god will put your spirit in you and lead you from within and how does god do that intuition amen if you're about to sign on a business deal and and you you're contemplating about it and and there is an unrest inside deep down there's an unrest you can't explain it you don't know why listen stop pause and pray again amen before you rush into it amen don't rush listen to your spirit listen to what god is saying to you confirm with your make sure your wife is is on board if your wife is safe born again she also has the holy spirit in her amen and if both of you agree and there's rest and there's peace a green light on the inside all right go on but if there's restlessness in both of you do not proceed that's how god leads us but your mind might be saying this is a great deal hey you know this is a good deal come on take it up all right but your mind is telling you all this is good but it's your mind amen and that's why if you're led by what you see by your body even by what you hear people tell you uh recommending you to invest in this but deep down when you're about to invest you find that there is a restlessness obey that you'll be so glad you did because your intuition is quicker amen than your mind and your body because it is in contact with the eternal spirit god's spirit and he knows things even before it happens praise god so we must learn to live by our intuition amen parent by your intuition amen deal with your children by your intuition listen to what god tells you amen um we shall even eat amen eat by your intuition your body your intuition says enough your intuition says okay today you can eat more right don't go even go by i always eat less okay if you're your body telling you that by preparing you for some some energy uh depleting task you know ahead of you but whatever it is just follow the intuition on the inside until the more you practice that just like with the muscles of the arm and all that it becomes stronger and stronger but spiritual strength hallelujah praise the name of jesus and now we see uh conscience conscience is the part where actually the word conscience in the greek is the same as consciousness like the bible tells us in hebrews stand for the law having a shadow of good things to come and not the very image of those things can never with those same sacrifices which they offer year by year continually make the karma's thereunto perfect for then would they not have ceased to be offered why because the worshipers once pushed one's cleanse should have no more conscience of sins in other words if all those uh sacrifices of the old testament the burnt offering the sin offering they bring a lamb off as a sin offering they bring a goat for a sin offering and and those goats die in their place and they are forgiven for a a day or a week you know and it's how you done it they offer daily even the bible tells us as well as also uh yearly right where they bring the bullock on the day of atonement the bible says all this is temporal it's impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins and god says that if those sacrifices had worked the worshipers would have no more conscience of sins do you see that but the word conscience is the word consciousness in the greek and that's why the translations like esv and a new king james version puts it as those who are once purified once cleansed should have no no longer should have any consciousness of sins so in other words if my debt has been paid my i should not be conscious of my debt my my conscience should not have debt on it i should not have a conscience that tells me hey you got to pay you got to pay you got to pay right especially you owe someone and all that but if it's paid if you don't know it's paid you can still have debt on your conscience so likewise the sin debt has been paid at the cross but we still have sin on our conscience why is that so if jesus did a perfect work and the bible says in the same chapter hebrews 10 it says by one sacrifice as contrast with the previous verse those priests stand daily ministering and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices notice they stand daily daily offering offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can never take away sins but jesus one sacrifice for sins forever but this man having offered one sacrifice for sins forever sat down the priests every day daily they were standing ministering offering repeatedly the same sacrifices this man offered one sacrifice for sins forever that means what it's good it's good for eternity it's once and for all the work amen and he sat down he sat down because his work is done his work is finished praise god he sat down and said the bible says having purged our sins he sat down so if that is so why are we having this consciousness of sins why are we sin conscious whenever we are still conscious consciousness of sin is actually saying that jesus didn't do a good job we are saying that god's word light you keep on reading he goes on later on he says the holy spirit even in verse 17 even the holy spirit witness to us saying their sins and their lawless deeds i will remember no more now this is a quotation the last clause of the new covenant amen that god has established through his son christ with all of us amen the new covenant says the reason that all of it works all right i will i will i will i will because i'll be merciful to the unrighteousness and their sins and lawless deeds i will remember no more so the holy spirit bears witness without saying to us hey your sins are forgiven god god is not dealing with you based on your sins god is dealing with you based on christ amen and but yet we are so conscious of our sins and christianity today for the most part is preaching sin for the most part instead of preaching the answer amen the lord jesus christ his finished work the grace of god the righteousness of god which is a gift hallelujah we're actually emphasizing on sin as if the debt has not been paid so friend if you look at the bible carefully you'll find that the bible tells us very clearly that the gospel that paul preached is a gospel that declares the righteousness of god as a gift very clear look at romans 1 verse 16 here for i'm not ashamed of the gospel of christ the gospel means good news right it just simply means good news for it is the power of god to salvation what is the power of god to salvation the gospel the gospel of christ is the power of god the word power there is dunamis where you get the word dynamite amen it is the power of god to salvation salvation is so terria and strong defines it like this preservation wholeness prosperity deliverance right it covers all those areas healing prosperity welfare deliverance preservation wholeness in fact the verb form is used by jesus more than once in the gospels like the woman the issue of blood jesus turned to her and said your faith has healed you the greek word there is so so from so terria he used the verb form your your your sins have forgiven you all right as well as your faith has saved you hallelujah hallelujah so so the big word the noun so is the verb the noun is so terria so so god wants for terrier to happen to you but what is the power that releases it the gospel but what is the gospel then we want to make sure that we get the right gospel in this gospel the next verse says in this gospel in it the righteousness of god is revealed from faith to faith as it is written the just shall live by faith notice that in the gospel the paul preached paul reveals the righteousness of god which is a gift chapter 3 he talks about but now the righteousness of god apart from the law has been revealed amen a righteousness that comes by faith praise the lord on anyone that believes on jesus they receive that hallelujah and and paul's sermons it's not just forgiveness of sins many are times when people say preach the gospel or preaching the gospel means this is the idea that most christians have preaching the gospel means telling them that jesus died for their sins and they can be forgiven they can receive forgiveness of sins but it's more than just forgiveness of sins it is justification now there's a theological word there but the word justification is the word righteousness and righteous by faith god justifies his people by faith hallelujah amen you see um for a long time i used to read the just shall list by faith and the idea i wonder if you you have the same impression as me the idea is that the just we know is the righteous the righteous shall live by faith in other words they will trust god for their finances and their supply especially those who are you know full-time ministry for the lord they are living by faith you know they just shall live by faith but actually that's not the emphasis in the greek the greek structure actually says the righteous by faith shall live those who are righteous by faith they will live i like the entity new english translation it brings it out it says the righteous by faith will live notice who will live who will live and not die the righteous by faith amen they'll have an abundance of life now if you are sick and you believe that you are righteous by faith because of your trust in the lord jesus christ and you have received the gift of righteousness and confess i am the righteousness of god in christ guess what's going to happen to the death to the sickness you will live if you live that thing dies hallelujah amen the righteous by faith shall live i even like the revised standard version better it says he who true faith is righteous shall live notice it is a far cry from from saying the righteous will live by faith it's actually he who true faith is righteous shall live amen if you believe you are the righteousness of god in christ and we've been encouraging people to confess that because why that's how faith operates amen you confess i am the righteousness of god in christ and what happens after that the bible tells us the first time you confess that amen you are safe you confess jesus christ it's my lord you believe in your heart god raised him from the dead for with the heart man believes unto righteousness amen praise god and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation hey praise the lord so now you and i we have put our trust in christ amen we are born again we are born righteous amen we are born righteous just like when we are born sinners we're all born sinners but sometimes even as a sinner we still do good things nice things but those things don't change our status as a sinner we were born sinners right so likewise today we are born again born righteous amen you are the righteousness of god in christ amen and now that you're born righteous there are times you might fall into sin you might do something amiss and all that yeah and you don't like it we're not encouraging you to continue in it okay definitely not okay but those things don't change your status you are still righteous in the eyes of god hallelujah come on praise the lord now if you believe that the bible says then the power of god is released if you believe that but notice that this gospel the paul preached has the righteousness of god being revealed not just forgiveness of sins but the righteousness of god you know forgiveness of sins is great amen god removed but you know if you're just forgiven of all your sins and you still the same person but you're no longer the same person god has put you in christ and you are the righteousness of god in christ confess that amen second corinthians 5 21 says for he made him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of god in him for he made him who knew no sin that's jesus to be seen for us where at the cross that we might become the righteousness of god in him so now you are the writing of god but you need to confess it amen you need to confess it in fact prophet isaiah saw you and i he saw the future and he saw a generation of people that will confess that i am the righteousness of god in christ look at isaiah 45 surely shall one say in the lord have i righteousness and strength now even to him shall men come and all that are infants against him shall be ashamed in the lord where in the lord shall all the seed of israel be justified made ighteous and shall glory so once again surely shall once say in the lord i have righteousness and strength in fact the apostle paul quoted this in philippians when he says that the name of jesus every knee shall bow he's actually drawing from here confessing jesus as lord is to confess that you have righteousness in him and only in him hallelujah are you with me so far praise the lord thank you lord and the bible says when you establish in righteousness god wants you to be established not just know it in your head your pastor i've heard this so many times and you have preached on it so many times but pastor you know what you know i know enough right you know and and i don't think i need to be told again that i'm the no you need to be told until you establish in it amen the word established in the hebrew is khun is to be fixed it's really to be to be rooted in it grounded established unmovable amen and it says here in isaiah 54 and isaiah 54 comes after the work of jesus in isaiah 53 right and the result is you are established in righteousness and what happens you shall be far from oppression for you shall not fear remember oppression includes sickness how god anointed jesus of nazareth who went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil you shall be far from oppression for you shall not fear and from terror for it shall not come near you look at the verse before that it tells you all your children shall be taught by the lord he will teach them directly and great shall be the shalom of your children shalom here includes not just peace of mind but their health their wholeness their well-being it will be great not just to have it but it'll be great shalom amen for your children in righteousness you shall be established indeed they your enemies your opponents they shall surely assemble god says but not because of me in other words if people assemble against you they collectively come together against you it is not me who is directing them whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake look at the last verse of this chapter no weapon form against you shall prosper you know when isaiah said all this we don't have uh computers and we don't have social media and all that but you know what it's all covered in this word formed no weapon formed whatever weapon if people are attacking you on social media people are attacking you and other modern ways and all that or even weapons right modern weapons god's promise is no weapon form god doesn't just say the weapon of the present time he says no weapon that's formed in the future even all right no weapon whatever weapon is this form no weapon that's formed shall prosper against you and every time that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn this is the heritage of the servants of the lord and their righteousness is from me says the lord hallelujah praise the lord like i said the apostle paul uh in his sermon if you look at it in the book of acts you know it'd be great for us to have a sermon cd by the apostle paul don't you think so i'll definitely grab it right but you know what we actually have the recording of paul preaching a god the gospel in the book of acts here in presidio antioch acts 13 you have the entire discourse of paul panned down amen through look by the holy spirit he was there and he panned down what paul preached amen are we having the same gospel as paul today paul at the end of it the whole sermon he talks about the history of israel in the in the synagogue in in antioch basidia and pastor mark and i have been there with our families many years ago we were there on the location where the synagogue was and in that synagogue paul preached to them and he came to this conclusion he says therefore let it be known to you brethren that through this man jesus is preached to you the forgiveness of sins now is that all the gospel is no look at what he says and by him everyone who believes is justified or made righteous from all things from which you cannot be justified or declared righteous by the law of moses in fact the youngst bring this out from the greek and from all things from which you were not able in the law of moses to be declared righteous in this one jesus everyone who is believing is declared righteous hallelujah so the the gospel paul preach hey man we have a sample of it preserved for us so that we can compare with the gospel we preach today you know we have a partial gospel and we think we have the full gospel you know we preach the forgiveness of sins but we don't preach the gift of righteousness and we don't tell people to really use that gift of righteousness amen favor it if god gives you a gift how can we just treat it lightly amen it's the greatest gift of all is the blessing of abraham abraham was justified by faith hallelujah so we have a sample here the apostle paul actually preached not only forgiveness of sins but also being declared righteous or justification by faith hallelujah praise the name of jesus let's go back to romans 8 verse 8 so then those who are in the flesh cannot please god somebody say well pastor prince the believers there are believers who are in the flesh well my friend the bible says you are not in the flesh those who are in the flesh cannot please god but you are not in the flesh you hear being the believer you are not in the flesh but in the spirit if indeed the spirit of god dwells in you now if anyone does not have the spirit of christ he is not his do you see that do you say that you are not in the flesh you are in the spirit and what are you in the spirit the righteousness of god you are righteous in fact in in efficiencies you are created the spirit man the new man is created in righteousness and true holiness you are the righteousness of god in christ amen we are righteous in his sight not by our works but by his blood amen by faith hallelujah in what christ has done thank you lord jesus hallelujah doesn't that trill you i want to read you a testimony i trust you're going to bless you and this lady from texas and she shares this pastor prince i first heard about your ministry some years ago when i was locked up in prison my mother shared with me about your teachings on the gospel of grace and god's love for me i would love to tell you that when i got released from prison i ran back to god and started living right but i did no such thing drugs and alcohol had such a hole in my life that it seemed as though i would die with a needle in my arm or a bottle in my hand or both after many bad decisions i was at a place where i had reached rock bottom i failed at being a wife mother daughter friend and person i was completely lost and broken one day i remembered your sermons and began to watch them daily they filled me with a hope and knowledge that jesus loves me and died for my sins so that i can be brought into his family i realized that god was not angry with me and loves me more than i can imagine today i've been free from heroin for two years and alcohol for over a year i have seen my life changed dramatically just by trusting in god and being conscious of his love for me instead of being conscious of my sins the lord is continually changing me from the inside out and helping me grow my relationship with my parents and son have been restored in full i also have a wonderful godly man in my life who prays for me and watches your sermons together with me we plan on getting married and buying a house soon i'm also planning to go back to school to become a paralegal and help others who are as lost as i was thank you pastor prince for your ministry i still listen to your messages daily to god be all the glory people hallelujah thank you jesus now let's go back to romans chapter 8. in verse 10 it says and if christ is in you the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is life because of righteousness okay the body is dead because of sin do we agree on that every time you experience depression you're experiencing death in your in your soul that's a manifestation of death death manifests as depression in your body death can manifest as sickness disease constant fatigue all right these are signs of weakness and death okay friend do not be worried in fact for the child of god even though the body is dead because of sin we still have the old body when jesus comes again we're gonna have a brand new body right amen praise the lord hallelujah he's going to transform our body light to his body but until then we have this body and the bible says even though christ is in you the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is life because of righteousness the spirit is life because of righteousness now that righteousness is not something that you do it is who you are amen you are the righteousness of god in christ amen so your spirit is life because of righteousness so the thing is this if only i can get that life in my spirit to touch my mind and then to flow into my body how is that possible the very next verse tells you but if the spirit of him so although your body is dead because of sin and your spirit is life because of righteousness but if the spirit is the holy spirit here if the spirit of him who raised jesus from the dead dwells in you he who raised christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you hallelujah do you hear that the holy spirit who raised jesus from the dead he indwells you right he's gonna quicken give life to your mother body amen now this is not referring to the rapture it is not referring to us having a glorified body because here the the making a life of giving life is to giving life to our mortal body do you see the word mortal there so in other words it's not referring to our glorified body in fact all of us were uh we are looking forward for jesus we're going to have a glorified body when jesus comes again right but that's a transformation it's a transformation because when jesus comes again for us our bodies will be transformed light unto his glorious body notice it's not the mortal body being given life like this verse tells us no it is the mortal body no longer mortal amen becoming immortal a glory being transformed into a glorified body so this verse is not referring to the rapture amen we receive our our glorified bodies but this referring to your life right now in your body right now you can receive life from the holy spirit who raised jesus from the dead amen how does that work now back to the uh my chart again on the spiritual body so what's happening right now what do you have in your spirit righteousness can you see that the bible says your spirit is life because of righteousness now what you want is that you want the life in that spirit because you are righteous you want that life to touch your soul to permeate your soul you want it not just to be contained in your spirit but to come out and touch your soul and then after that touch your body that results in healing health wholeness amen renewal of youth and strength hallelujah but notice it all starts with your spirit your spirit is born again your spirit is righteous and god wants you to be conscious now where are you conscious you're conscious in your spirit right so exercise that being conscious that you are the righteousness of god in christ and you do that by confessing i am the righteousness of god in christ so the more you confess it come to the place where you even feel it in your emotions amen because your emotion is your soul realm now you want that life that life is already in you that zoe life that life from god is in you if that life can touch your depression that's the end of your depression that life can touch your sickness in your body amen it will heal your body praise the lord so that life needs to come out from our spirit and into our bodies but the problem is what it says the spirit is life because of righteousness and we are not righteous conscious so as long your soul realm your mind back to verse 6 again to set the mind on the flesh is death notice that but to set the mind on the spirit is life and peace so your your soul realm is the deciding factor are you going to focus on the fact that your spirit is now you are a and i'm i'm illustrating like i'm the soul okay the soul decide to set to set yourself focus on the flesh or to focus on the spirit your spirit my friend is life because why is righteous amen because of righteousness now the bible says get your mind to focus on that listen to teachings on it amen renew your mind to who you really are and then you set your mind on the spirit it's life and it's peace amen to your soulish realm you're gonna feel it even in your your mind in your emotions hallelujah it's gonna affect your will praise the lord so that depression where is it where is it found it's in your soul in your mind amen sickness is found in your body but the life and peace can touch that depression and remove it and flood your emotions amen flood your soulish realm with life and peace hallelujah so what where is the where's the point that there's a break is because we are not conscious we are righteous because that life is in that righteousness so the more you're conscious of it you're setting your mind on the spirit guess what the life comes out and touches your mind and then when your mind is touched it goes further and touches your body that's when you are healed hallelujah hey i preached myself happy amen so god wants that righteousness that life from that righteousness that's who you are in christ to you god wants to be conscious of it so that it permeates your soul your emotions amen you know i'm starting to tell people even that confess it until you feel it you're already righteous whether you feel it or you don't feel it once you're born again you are born righteous in god's eyes you are righteous amen that's the crux of the gospel righteousness by faith amen so you're already righteous whether you feel it you don't feel it you're still righteous but when you feel it notice that emotions when you start feeling it it's just one step away from your body amen so the moment you allow that righteousness consciousness to come into your soulish realm where you meditate on it where you start feeling even the feeling of righteous well pastor prince how do you explain the feeling of righteous you know i felt that a number of times many times in fact in my life even last night as a medical day i started feeling that again you know to feel that is life i i i i want to describe it by it transcends you know it my expression would just it would just better my expression because it is like a sense of authority a sense of newness a sense of that you are in company with god you feel like you know you have no no fear of the future you you feel like when you pray god hears you and many times you take authority not just praying all the time you feel a flow it's natural to take authority whereas when you're not righteousness conscious amen you fear taking authority right so when you pray now you pray instead of a survival spirit of bondage you pray in the spirit of sonship now that's how i'm trying you know but again these expressions cannot describe you need to experience it yourself confess it until you feel it amen i am the righteousness of god in christ let it permeate your soul let it permeate your mind your body and then it's just one step from the soul to the body when your soul experiences it amen your body experiences wholeness life and peace hallelujah hallelujah praise the name of jesus man i really preach myself happy thank you lord one more testimony before we close amen uh this is gonna bless you in case you have friends that are going through the same struggle listen to this testimony there's hope you know the sin does not have the final say righteousness god's righteousness does amen this lady says i was involved in an adulterous relationship for five years i was born again and i knew it was wrong yet i couldn't get out of it i was trapped in the relationship physically emotionally and mentally the more i tried to get out of it the more i got entangled in it i even became pregnant and got an abortion out of fear the guilt and condemnation i felt took away my peace then one of my friends sent me a video of one of pastor prince's sermons it was a short clip but it spoke volumes to me i started looking up more of his teachings at times it sounded too good to be true but pastor prince always backed up his statements with scriptures so i was assured they were based on the word of god i started confessing that i am the righteousness of god in christ more than once i heard pastors say that a true believer is not happy to stay in sin and how only grace can get us out of the dominion of sin he was describing my struggle i would break up with this man a number of times but would always end up going back to him then one day i heard pastor prince sharing about how we can pray to god to help us end bad relationships when i heard this i prayed the same thing i told god lord i cannot break this relationship you break it for me meanwhile i kept listening to pastor prince's sermons to build up my faith and to be free from the youth and condemnation i was going through i learned about god's forgiveness and the father's love for me ever every time pastor prince spoke about adultery something would stir within me it didn't happen immediately but one day we had a very ugly fight and our relationship ended i have been set free from that relationship since then and no longer feel guilt and condemnation thank you pastor prince for preaching jesus in such a beautiful way i'm enjoying all the blessings of the righteous one all glory and honor to god alone amen indeed praise the lord praise the lord hallelujah thank you lord jesus so my friend it's vital we confess just like isaiah saw you confessing amen surely in the lord i have righteousness in other words i am the righteousness of god in christ amen and the bible says that all those who are incensed against you will be ashamed all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and the bible says no weapon form against you will prosper so one of the devices of the enemy is always to bring in to bring in condemnation every time you do something wrong he will keep guilt and condemnation on you the last thing he wants to hear you say is to say i am the righteousness of god in christ you've got an addiction to porn the last thing he wants you to say is to say i am the righteousness of god in christ in the midst of your sin you know friend we are taught christianity is a great confession not confession of sin it involves confession of sin but the great confession there is not referring to a confessional sin it's confessing for example in hebrews 3 it says consider the apostle and high priest of our confession what confession is that go on next chapter chapter four it says uh let us hold fast the confession seeing then that we have a great high priest passed into the heavens let us hold fast our confession now you don't hold fast to a confession of sin you say it and that's it right what is this holy fast confession go on hebrews 10 it tells us let us hold first the confession of our hope king james says our faith without wavering amen so we confess i am the righteousness of god in christ without wavering amen keep on confessing until you feel it amen until you enjoy it even in your emotional realm amen and it won't make you proud because it's a gift you you are made the righteousness of god in christ it's not something that you made yourself you're not a self-made righteous man amen which is a problem with the grace of the promise against grace is always self-righteousness is the mother of all sins long before israel produced the golden calf at the foot of mount sinai israel said all that god commands us we can do it that's self-righteousness amen if you know the the pure the purity and holiness of the law you will never say that amen we cannot we cannot keep the law outwardly and inwardly especially amen but thanks be to god a righteousness apart from the law has been revealed and being proclaimed by the law and the prophets the righteousness which is a gift if you receive that amen you confess that and you believe that friend you're born again amen you confess jesus christ as your lord as your righteousness you are safe and then you are created in righteousness being saved means you are recreated amen once upon a time you were born a sinner and

Introduction: Your testimony glorifies God and encourages others

Pastor Prince encourages us to continue sharing our testimonies with one another. What God has done for others, He wants to do for you as well. Even as we hear testimonies from others each Sunday, be encouraged because your breakthrough is next!

One of the reasons why we share our testimonies is because it is how we overcome the devil— by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:11a). Every time you testify to someone, you are sharing God’s grace with them. No one can reason away your experience.

Reading the many praise reports and testimonies from others builds up our faith with the confident expectation of good for our future.

We now live by a new law—the law of the Spirit of life—which brings abundant life

We are continuing from last week’s sermon, Your Failure Is Not Final.

“Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.”
— Romans 8:1–2 NASB

no condemnation at all” — The word “no” is the Greek word “oudeis,” and it describes a scenario where there is no exception. This means that there is no condemnation whatsoever in any shape or form for those who are in Christ Jesus.

The law of sin and death entered when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. God never desired for us to live a life subjected to sickness and disease, growing old, or dying. God’s dream for man is to live in health, strength, youthfulness, and to enjoy all the good that He has in store for them.

The devil has nothing but destruction for man but Jesus came to bring life and life more abundantly (John 10:10b).

the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” — When Jesus died on the cross, He introduced a new law—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Here, “the law” is not referring to the Ten Commandments or a rule of conduct made by a government but it is referring to a mode of operation, e.g. the law of physics or the law of gravity. Under the law of gravity, what goes up must come down. Likewise, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus releases God’s abundant, “zóé” life into the life of the believer.

the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death” — When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we came under this new law and so we were freed from the law of sin and death. Similar to how the law of thrust and lift frees a plane from being subjected to the law of gravity, the law of the Spirit of life has freed us from being subjected to the law of sin and death. God gave a greater and higher law, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, which transcends the law of sin and death. Today, we are no longer subjected to this law but we are subjected to the law of the Spirit of life.

Speak out in faith and experience God’s abundant life

While we have been freed from the law of sin and death through the finished work of Jesus, it does not mean that the law and its effects no longer exists. However, one of the ways we can actively claim this law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is to confess, “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.”

When you experience a symptom in your body, confess this law over yourself. The spirit of faith speaks. Just as David wrote in Psalm 116:10a (KJV), “I believed, therefore have I spoken.” And Paul who quoted David in 2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV), said, “We having the same spirit of faith . . . I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”

Faith is speaking what you have believed.

The Bible tells us that when God saw darkness, He called light into existence and called it good (Gen. 1:3). God didn’t speak about the darkness He saw; He spoke forth what He wanted to see. We, being made in God’s image and having the same spirit of faith as David, believe and therefore speak. This is how we operate in faith in our daily lives.

It is in this manner that we are saved: by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8 KJV). Similarly, how do we appropriate all that Christ has done for us? By faith, and faith operates through believing and speaking (Rom. 10:9–10).

The heart and the mouth are always engaged in the process of faith.

When you feel tired or weak in your body, say this: “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.”

That is your rightful place in Christ, free and above the law of sin and death, in the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

God sees you as a new creation in Jesus, completely forgiven and righteous

It is essential that we are established in this truth: Because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross, God sees us in Christ today, one with Him and ensphered in Him. Today, when God looks at Jesus, He sees you. When God looks at you, He sees His Son, Jesus Christ. God will never see you apart from Christ.

In God’s eyes, whatever has happened to Jesus has happened to you as well. So when Jesus died at the cross, our old self was crucified with Him. When Jesus was raised from the dead, we were raised with Him. When God made Jesus sit at His right hand, we sat down with Him at God’s right hand.

We are now in Christ not by our own efforts and strength, but by God’s doing.

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”
— 1 Corinthians 1:30 KJV

Because we are in Christ, He becomes our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

All our sins have been forgiven through Christ’s blood, but because we still have the flesh (the sin principle that makes us inclined to sin) in us, we cannot help but fall into sin. However, even when we fall into sin (the Christian walk is an upward stumbling), we are still forgiven and righteous in Christ.

How can this be so?

Because of Adam’s sin, everyone was born a sinner. Even if a sinner does good deeds, he is still a sinner. But now, Jesus Christ, who is the last Adam, has made us righteous in Him. Our sinful nature has been crucified at the cross with Him and today, we are seated with Him at God’s right hand. Now that we are righteous in Christ, we cannot revert to being sinners even when we fall into sin.

So even when you see the flesh act up (e.g. when you have wayward thoughts or sinful desires), you don’t have to identify yourself with them.

Don’t judge yourself by your behavior; judge yourself by your standing in Christ—you are the righteousness of God in Christ! As you judge yourself by your righteous standing, your behavior will start to line up with this truth and you will find yourself reigning more and more over sin.

God’s life-transforming power is released when you truly believe you are righteous in Christ

The real you is a spirit. You are a spirit made in the image of God, but you live in a body and you have a soul (thoughts and emotions).

While we have a soul and we live in a body, God does not want us to be led by our minds and bodies. That is not to say that we don’t take care about these things, but God wants our spirit man to take precedence over our mind and body.

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
— Romans 8:5–6 ESV

To set the mind on the flesh is death. To set the mind on the spirit is life and peace.

Throughout the Bible, there are instances where the “spirit” can refer to the Holy Spirit or our spirit man. Sometimes, the distinction isn’t as clear because God has made our spirit man and the Holy Spirit one (1 Cor. 6:17 KJV). The Holy Spirit dwells in our spirit and that is how God leads us from within and how He wants us to lead our soul and body.

In the spirit, we experience:

  1. Communion with God:
We have communion with God in the realm of the spirit. We don’t commune with God physically but spiritually. It is in the spirit where we enjoy the most intimate communion with Him. While there are moments where we may feel God’s presence tangibly, we should not depend on them because those feelings can come and go.

  2. Intuition:
The spirit is also where we find intuition. Even when a person is not born again, they still have this function, although it is dormant until it is awakened when they are saved. For those of us who are born again, our intuition is in the form of being led by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit leads us on the wavelength of peace. Before you make an important decision, don’t rush, but take time to listen to what God is saying. If you feel restless about it, take time to pray about it. If you start doing something and there’s no peace, don’t pursue it. There may be instances where what you see and what others are telling you seem to be the right path to take, but if you feel uneasy about it, obey that prompting. Don’t rush to make the decision but take time to seek God about it.

You can also parent by your intuition. Listen to what God is telling you on the inside and let the Holy Spirit lead you to guide and parent your child.

  3. Conscience:
Lastly, our conscience is found in the spirit. It is in our spirit that we first receive the revelation that we have been forgiven and are righteous in Christ, and that gives us a clear conscience.

In the Greek, the word “conscience” is the same word used for “consciousness.”

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”
    — Hebrews 10:1–2 KJV

The sacrifices of the old covenant could atone for sins for a day or a year but it could never fully take away sins (Heb. 10:4 KJV). If your debt has been paid, you should not be conscious of your debt, your conscience should not have debt on it. Likewise, our sin debt has been paid at the cross, and so we should not have sin on our conscience.

“And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,”
    — Hebrews 10:11–12 NKJV

What the old covenant priests had to do continually and repeatedly, Jesus accomplished in one perfect sacrifice. Jesus has paid for our sins fully and He sat down because the work has been finished. Today, we can have peace in our conscience knowing that our sins have been forgiven.

When we continue to have sin-consciousness in our spirit, we are unwittingly saying that Jesus’ work at the cross was not perfect and finished.

The Holy Spirit in us also bears witness with us that God is not dealing with us based on our sins but based on what Jesus Christ has done for us at the cross (Rom. 8:14–16). Our sins were righteously punished in the body of Jesus Christ so that today, there remains no more punishment for us to bear.

The way to bring peace to our conscience is not by trying to justify ourselves by our good deeds or our attempts at atonement, but it is to look to the cross and remember again what Jesus has accomplished for us through His perfect finished work.

No weapon formed against the righteous shall prosper

The Bible tells us very clearly that the gospel the apostle Paul preached is a gospel that declares the righteousness of God as a gift:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation (‘sótéria’) for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."”
— Romans 1:16–17 NKJV

the gospel of Christ . . . is the power of God to salvation” — The word “salvation” is the Greek word “sótéria,” which refers not only to salvation from condemnation, but also includes healing, wholeness, and well-being for your entire person. God wants this salvation to happen to you and it is through the gospel that the fullness of this salvation is released.

it is written, "The just shall live by faith."” — Pastor Prince shares that he used to think this verse was talking about faith as a way of life (for instance, when a person chooses to trust God for their finances and supply, that is living by faith). However, in the Greek, the sentence structure of this verse places a different emphasis that can be seen in the New English Translation:

“For the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel from faith to faith, just as it is written, “The righteous by faith will live.””
— Romans 1:17 NET

The righteous by faith will live.” — The New English Translation places emphasis on “the righteous by faith,” i.e. those who are righteous by faith will live. We see this in the Revised Standard Version as well:

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "He who through faith is righteous shall live."”
— Romans 1:17 RSV

He who through faith is righteous shall live.” — We have been made righteous not by our actions or deeds, but through the finished work of Christ. If you are the righteousness of God in Christ, you have Jesus’ abundant life in you.

If you believe you are the righteousness of God in Christ, confess it!

Confess that you are the righteousness of God even while the symptoms of sin are present in your mind and body—that is righteousness by faith.

The presence of these symptoms does not discount your righteous standing in Christ. A sinner can perform good deeds but that does not change his identity as a sinner. A righteous man may fail but that does not change his identity as the righteousness of God in Christ.

The gospel is more than just the forgiveness of sins but it is also about the righteousness of God revealed. You can be forgiven of your sins but never realize that you have been made righteous by God.

“All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace (‘shalom’) of your children.
In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.”
— Isaiah 54:13–14 NKJV

great shall be the peace” — This peace is God’s “shalom” peace, which includes completeness, health, good success, safety, and one’s total well-being. It affects our spirit, soul, and body.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,"
Says the Lord
.”
— Isaiah 54:17 NKJV

God has promised that no weapon formed against you shall prosper—not just in the past or present, but also in the future. This promise is not dependent on our obedience or our own self-righteousness but it is dependent on Jesus and His righteousness.

The reason why no weapon formed against us can prosper is found in the second part of the verse: “ . . . This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me.’ says the Lord.”

When you know that your righteousness is from the Lord, no weapon formed against you will prosper!

Whatever the weapon or challenge may be, know beyond any doubt that this is God’s promise to you—no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Not because your behavior is perfect, but because of Christ’s finished work at the cross, your righteous standing in Him is perfect.

The revelation of your righteousness in Christ is first received in your spirit, then impacts your thoughts and emotions

“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”
— Acts 13:38–39 NKJV

The power of the gospel that Paul preached is found in the forgiveness of sins for “everyone who believes.” We see this more clearly in the Young’s Literal Translation:

“and from all things from which ye were not able in the law of Moses to be declared righteous, in this one [Jesus] every one who is believing is declared righteous;”
— Acts 13:39 YLT

This gift of righteousness has already been given to you. Your only part to play today is to simply believe. The old covenant was based on justification by works (keeping the law of Moses—The Ten Commandments) but the new covenant is based on justification by faith (believing that Jesus Christ has received all the punishment for our sins and today, we are righteous in Him).

“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
— Romans 8:9–11 NKJV

The born-again believer is no longer in the flesh but he is in the spirit. The born-again man is created by God in Christ (Eph. 4:24). We are righteous in God’s sight, not by our work, but by the blood of Jesus Christ. Our righteousness is founded on the incorruptible truth of the finished work of Christ.

Pastor Prince shares a testimony from a sister in Texas, United States, who experienced a 180-degree life transformation (she was delivered from drugs and alcohol, and experienced restoration in her relationships) when she became conscious of God’s love for her instead of her sins.

When your thoughts are occupied with Christ and His righteousness, you will experience life, strength, and transformation in your physical body

“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
— Romans 8:10–11 NKJV

body is dead because of sin” — Death can manifest as thoughts of depression in your soul and it can also manifest as sickness or disease in your body.

the Spirit is life because of righteousness” — This righteousness is not something that you do, it is who you are when you accept Jesus as your Savior.

How do we get this life to touch our minds and physical bodies?

give life to your mortal bodies” — The Holy Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you. That same Spirit quickens and gives life to your mortal body. This is not referring to the rapture where we will receive our glorified bodies (Phil. 3:21a ESV), but this is referring to the life that is present in our mortal bodies right now.

Today, what dwells in our spirit is righteousness and life.

Life is a result of righteousness.

The Spirit is life because of righteousness. It has to do with righteousness. For that life to permeate our soul and bodies—which results in health, healing, and wholeness—it all begins with our spirit. It all begins with being conscious of who you are in your spirit, that is, the righteousness of God in Christ.

The more conscious you are of your righteousness in Christ, the more God’s “zóé” life flows into your mortal body. Once His “zóé” life touches that depression or anxiety in our souls, or that disease in our bodies, that’s the end of them. Where His life is, there can be no death.

But how do we receive that boost of resurrection life from the Holy Spirit?

“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
— Romans 8:6 ESV

to set the mind” — The mind is part of your soul. In your soul, you decide whether you want to focus (mind) on the spirit (who you are) or the body (what you are experiencing). Get your mind to focus on who you are and what you have in the spirit—listen to teachings that expound on that truth. Renew your mind with who you really are in the spirit.

When you set your mind on the spirit (your righteousness in Christ), it is going to affect your soul (your emotions, thoughts, and will). The life-transforming power and peace in the spirit can touch your emotions and then flood your body with healing and wholeness.

You are already righteous in God’s eyes, whether you feel it or not. When you allow that righteousness-consciousness that starts in your spirit to take root in your soul (e.g. by meditating on it), it will eventually impact your body.

As the righteousness of God in Christ, you should feel righteous.

How do you feel that righteousness-consciousness? Pastor Prince shares that for him personally, it is like a sense of newness, a sense of being in close company with God, where there’s no fear of the future. It is a sense of assurance that when you pray, God hears you. He encourages all of us to experience that for ourselves.

Pastor Prince shares a testimony of a powerful life transformation from a sister who was caught in a vicious cycle of sin, guilt, and condemnation. Despite years of self-effort, it was only through the confession of her righteousness in Christ—not of her sin—that she was finally able to break the cycle of sin, and be set free from a constant state of guilt and condemnation.

One of the devices of the enemy is to heap guilt and condemnation on you. The last thing he wants you to say and believe is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ.

What are you confessing today?

Is it a confession of sin? Today, because of the finished work of Christ, we do not hold fast to a confession of sin but we hold fast the confession of our hope, a confident expectation of good to come because of all that Jesus, our great High Priest, has done for us (Heb. 10:23a, Heb 4:14).

True confession is to align what you are saying with what God says about you today.

Keep on confessing it until you experience it even in your thoughts and emotions.

“May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:23 RSV

may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless” — When you receive His righteousness that gives you a peaceful conscience, when you confess it and believe it, you will see all parts of your being transformed—your soul (thoughts and emotions) and your body.

Pastor Prince prays for people with the following conditions:

  • Someone who has pulled a nerve in his/her neck and is unable to sleep at night due to the pain
  • Pain in the chest and shortness of breath
  • Constant pain in the lower back that affects the leg as well
  • Pulmonary valve
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • A young person who has been diagnosed with lupus

Say, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ and I receive my healing, full and free, from my Savior.”

One of the ways to renew your mind is to keep on hearing the good news. Keep listening to sermons that remind you that your righteousness is a gift and that you are righteous apart from your works. The more righteousness-conscious you are, the more life from the Spirit touches and quickens your soul and body!

Salvation Prayer

“Lord Jesus, I thank You that You died on the cross for my sins. I thank You that when I was declared righteous by God, God raised You from the dead. I thank You, Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior, now and forever. Father God, I thank You, You have made me the righteousness of God in Christ. Thank You that all the blessings of the righteous are now mine. Thank You, Father God, that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed me from every sin. Thank You, Father, I'm a new creation, I'm born again and born righteous. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Closing Prayer

“This coming week, the Lord bless you and your families richly, plentifully, abundantly, because it is the blessing of the Lord that maketh rich and not your efforts, not your labor. The Lord make His face to shine on you and upon your loved ones, and be favorable to you. Open doors of favor throughout this week to you and your loved ones.

May you find yourself by the grace of God at the right place at the right time, always. The Lord lift up His countenance on you and your families, and grant to you and your loved ones His wonderful shalom peace, wholeness, and wellbeing, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And all the people say, Amen.”

Own The Word (life application)

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "He who through faith is righteous shall live."”
— Romans 1:17 RSV

The gospel declares the righteousness of God as a gift—and we have received this wonderful gift by faith. Today, God wants you to know that “righteousness by faith” is not just a nice thought, but it is a powerful truth that brings His life-transforming power into every area of our lives—our spirit, soul (thoughts and emotions), and body.

Maybe today, you find yourself struggling in your thoughts and emotions. Are you overwhelmed by depressive thoughts and feelings? Are you overcome by waves of anxiety about the future? Maybe you’ve been replaying past mistakes in your mind over and over again, and you find yourself unable to move on in life. Maybe you’ve been harboring negative emotions in your heart toward yourself or others, and you know this hinders you from living with joy and hope.

Or perhaps you’re facing a challenge in your body. It could be a chronic health condition or a pain you’ve been experiencing in recent days. It could be a sudden bad report from the doctor or an undiagnosable condition medical experts cannot understand. It could also be an addiction or habit you can’t seem to kick.

Friend, the revelation of your righteousness in Christ will bring life into all these areas where you’re seeing death.

This coming week, meditate often on the truth that you are righteous in Christ. When you declare that you are the righteousness of God in Christ even while the symptoms of sin and death are present in your mind and body, you are practicing righteousness by faith. Meditate on this truth, mutter it under your breath, and speak it forth until you believe it in your mind and feel it deep down in your heart! Say, “Thank You, Lord, that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death. I receive your zóé life in my thoughts and emotions and in my body!”

As the truth of your righteous standing in Christ becomes more and more real to you, you will begin to experience the life-transforming power of God touching your soul and body, making them whole (Rom. 8:10–11, 1 Thess. 5:23).
