God’s timely provision as seen in these Old and New Testament stories: The crossing of the river Jordan (Josh. 3): At the time when God instructed them to step into the waters, the river Jordan was overflowing with water. Yet, God did not stop the water or part the waters until the sole of the priests’ feet entered the waters. This shows us that God does not supply in advance of our needs. Instead, He supplies when we are face-to-face with our obstacles. God does not show us the miracle before we step right into it. This is how God supplies—He wants us dependent on Him all the time, in every situation.
